Disability Hate Crime Training Opportunity 9th March

On Friday 9th March 2012 Daisy UK will be hosting a Disability Hate Crime training course at Brockman Hall, 1B Snaefell Avenue, Tuebrook, Liverpool, L13 7HA. The course will start at 10am until 4pm; registration will be from 9.30am. The course offers fantastic quality and value for just £49.00 per person. This accredited course includes refreshments throughout the day plus a hearty lunch, unique information packs and certificates. More importantly this course will give you the information and knowledge required for you to address the problem that is disability hate crime. The aim of this training is for participants to understand and recognise incidents of disability hate crime and methods of intervention and support mechanisms. The objectives of the disability hate crime training are as follows:

1. Understanding the pathways from ignorance to negative actions (‘from bullying to hate crime’).

2. Disabled people personae and images of vulnerability.

3. What is disability and terminology?

4. Communication skill development (a tool for change).

5. Greater understanding of victims of disability of hate crime (reasons for non disclosure).

6. Actions and interventions, signposting to services currently available.
