Testimonials

Daisy UK has helped a number of people and will continue to help others in future.

Many people have been helped by the support and information offered by the Daisy UK disability hate crime team.

To Mr Ian Gibb and team,

I am writing this letter to say a very big thank you to all of your team and yourself for giving myself and my wife all the help and support in our hour of need.

The help that we received was very good, polite, and very caring. The daisy UK team have done a very good job and the support goes beyond the call of duty. Mr Ian Gibb is a special man who goes beyond his call of duty and goes out of his way to try and resolve all matters.

Without Daisy UK I do not know what we would have done. Were nobody else would listen, Daisy UK team and management did. It is a pity there are a lot of people who do not listen and try to brush problems away. Fortunately Daisy UK took our problem on board and have done everything to try and help us.

I cannot tell you how much myself and wife appreciate all what Daisy UK have done for us. I am simply overjoyed with the support we have received and a very big thank you to Mr Ian Gibb as I could contact him at any time, even out of office hours, which made us feel as though e always had someone to support us.

I hope Daisy UK is a long running charity because in theses hard times we all need someone and hour someone was a man worth his weight in gold, Mr Ian Gibb. Thank you all very much and have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Hi my name is Don Macdonald jr,

I have seen your organization on the secret millionaire and i must say wow.I must say that Mr.Dave Kelly is an amazing human being. I have to wonder how a guy like yourself can go out every day and help others so much and do it with the love you have. What a world we would have if even just a few more people just did what you do.I am in Canada and my parents came from Scotland but i was born here. I have just lost my dad on Feb 23 2009,but it feels like 2 days ago. Since this i can not see the forest for the trees, then i see you wow what a man x 10,000.Dave keep up the good work the world needs more Dave Kellys but we won't hold our breath. Thanks for the inspiration and if i ever get to UK i would be honoured to meet you,if ever you can call a fan i would like to be the one. Thank you for your time.

Many people have benefited from the courses and talks that Daisy UK provides.

To Dave,

Many thanks for coming in to school today to talk to the year 10 pupils. There were approximately 100 pupils present in the hall. I have never known that year group to be so quiet. they were so engrossed in what you had to say. The boys found the talk extremely informative and entertaining and the use of visual aids, demonstrations and the practical element certainly kept their attention. You pitched the level of your talk just right and i feel that it has given the boys a lot to think about. It was great that they felt happy to ask you questions at the end.

Already i have had several comments from the boys, telling me how much they enjoyed your talk and asking whether you would be able to come in again to see them and i know the head teacher is very keen for you to come in to speak to the other year groups at some point. We feel you achieved in an hour what we have been trying to achieve for years.

thanks again for giving up your time this morning. Please also pass on our thanks to Steve and to Tony for all their help.

Dear David,

My husband and i were at your training session at Hugh Baird College on the 17th February. First we would like to say how much we enjoyed your session but secondly we would like to say a huge thank you for encouraging us to go to the opticians for an eye test. Listening to your story about going blind when you were 30 gave my husband Nikki a push to make us an appointment at the opticians. We visited the opticians on Saturday and Nikki found our that he has cataracts and needs both eyes to be operated on as soon as possible because it can lead to other more serious eye complications. He also found our that he shouldn't be driving as he is well below the driving limit. The optician's only worry is that Nikki is only 26 and that if he has the operation now he could develop cataracts again when he is older and may not be able to have the operation done for a second time.

We both feel that without your story we wouldn't have made an appointment and Nikki's eye sight would have gradually got worse and possible led to something more serious. Niki told me that he noticed his eye sight had suddenly declined over the past few months but was naive and didn't think it would be serious. We feel that your training has possibly saved his sight.

This email was to thank you very much for your training and that your story might encourage others to have their eyes checked too.

Thanks again

Jenny and Nikki

Dear Dave,

RE:Inspirational Talk to students on NCS programme

Firstly i would like to say thank you for giving up your time to visit our students on Tuesday 12th July 2011.

All students and staff thoroughly enjoyed your session and everyone commented that they all learnt something new.

Your talk was very inspirational and thought provoking. Your talk went on a lot longer than i had anticipated - the students were so in awe of your journey that i think we could of gone on all afternoon. Classroom sessions are always difficult for our young people, but all students were sat at the edge of the their chair listening to you and enjoying your humour.

One of the young people shared with me later that evening that her brother had lost his sight in one eye and wears a glass eye. She seemed grateful that by talking about blindness it gives young people a better understanding of people's disabilities.

On behalf of all our students and Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service's Youth Engagement Team, thank you for the input you gave to enhance young people's understanding of blindness.

Yours Sincerely

Miss S Tosi

Hi All,

The course was FANTASTIC! extremely engaging, inspirational and a real rewarding experience for both staff and students. The way the course was constructed gave students realistic opportunities to learn and develop ideas and apply alternative learning opportunities for those with visual impairments. I whole heartedly enjoyed the day - it gave me many things to take a way and reflect on my own teaching practice.
